Visual and Graphic Communication Kit
Based on the concept of augmentative and alternative communication (e.g. Blissymobls), which allows a visual and modular system for expressing ideas instead of letters and words.
List of components
- Frame - A 3 x 3 frame that allows a base block to be placed in the centre, and auxiliary blocks to be placed around it where required.
- Base Block - Typically a core concept that can be augmented or modified to express key ideas required for communication
- Auxiliary Block - Typically a general concept that is used to augment base blocks to extend the range of ideas and expressions
Using the VGC to communicate:
Place the base block in the frame and a add auxiliary blocks in the correct or defined positions to create a word or concept.
You can join multiple frames together to create sentences, and adjust the base and auxiliary blocks as required.
